Watched 17 AGAIN. Well just turned legally 21. Maybe I don't wish I'm 17 again at the moment. But trust me I'm on my way there. At first I thought the movie plot was rather expected, about a guy who turns 17 again and try to relive his past. Maybe due to bad editting of the trailers which did not show the good part of the show, simply put that it was not well publicised(eventhough the movie was featured in AI). Therefore at first I was a bit unsure about watching this movie , but I'm glad I did.

Thanks to the character Ned Gold who perks the movie up. He is such a geek but a rich one on top of that and he knows how to indulge, for once I saw the good thing in being a geek. Well I did'nt know that there was actually an elf language, I guess LOTR fans must have come out with an official one. Oh ya, Ned found someone he likes(the principal) and they clicked so well that they actually speak elf.

Zac Efron may not appear to be a comedy material but he was good, eventhough there was no singing involved. All in all the movie was fun to watch and it had given me a good laugh.

Bad and Good news

On Mon, 13th April the first thing I heard in the morning was "Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaih Rojiun!". What? Could it be my uncle who was admitted to the hospital. If it's him, then I'm feeling guilty for not coming along with my mother to visit him on the day before. But no. It's actually a call from Pulau Ubin telling that my grandmother was dying(nazak). It's kind of impossible because she was live, well and kicking. She just visited my uncle on saturday. Another half an hour, a call confirmed her departure. Wow! Still unable to digest the previous news, and this! We all get ready in a jiffy and get there ASAP.

This was the second sudden death since 5 years ago and I have since avoided going for funerals. She may not be a grandmother who you can get spoilt with, but she was the only grandparent I had eversince I can remeber. May Allah bless her.

The good news may come a bit late, but hey good things are meant to be shared. I received a letter on Thur, 16th April from NTU. I have been accepted for direct entry to year 2 of EEE (find out yourself what it means) course. But of course that will be in 2011 when I have completed NS. BTW what is CMPB doing, I have been waiting for my enlistment date since forever. Argghh! When will it be. I'm bored.

12 April 2009

I have watched Confession of a Shopaholic(still have the ticket stub in my jacket's pocket)!!

There was a change of plan. I have decided to watch the movie first instead of reading the book. The reason for this was because, I did not want to set a high expectation for the movie by reading the book beforehand. A storybook based movie will never be as good as the book itself (do not underestimate the power of words and of course novels tend to have lots of monologue which makes it hard to interpret into the movie)

It is so like Sophie Kinsella to write a story like this. How someone can ended up in the most unexpecting situation. Somehow the lead actress reminded me of Anna Faris from House Bunny, etc. So now I am looking for the book. Any kind soul out there able to lend me the book?0_0
